No matter what you hear about Fast Food they can never be forgotten. Somehow we can’t stay away from Burgers, Hot Dogs and French Fries. I wonder how many of you have not heard about Shake Shack who are well advertised in Dubai. Shake Shack is a well known American Brand known for serving quality Burgers and Hot Dogs. Their meat is free from hormones or antibiotics and they use 100% all-natural Angus beef. Also note, there food is not processed and is cooked to order.

We visited the Shake Shack at JBR, The Walk. You could sit inside or outside with a nice view of the open beach. They have very simple looking chairs, stools and tables like we have in school. The staff was friendly and polite. For some reason, I felt they had an over load of staff at Shake Shack, JBR. Probably that’s how they manage to deliver fast food, FAST.

At Shake Shack it’s self service. You order, pay and then they give you a buzzer. You hold onto it until it buzzes hinting that your order is now ready to collect at their counter. What I liked about their counter is that, it was spacious.

The fancy crinkle fries felt very ordinary. It could have been more crispy and little bit of salt would have helped as well. The hot dog was brilliant. The hot dog was obviously hidden with all those vegetables and pickles on top but they make this hot dog taste really good. I really enjoyed the Smoke Shack burger which came with right spice to tingle your taste buds. By the way, the buns used at Shack Shake is specifically imported from the US, which are actually made from potatoes. You can tell the difference when you see it.

The real burger that stood out was the Shroom Burger. It was one of the best Veg burgers I’ve had. The portobello mushroom filled with cheese was just delicious and made this burger a luscious one. You give it a first bite and you can find that hollow mushroom filled with cheese inside as you see above. I realize one thing that their burgers are quite small and you will need to pair it with their shakes, concretes to get that extra bit of hunger vanish.

I just realized that I didn’t tell you much about Shake Shack drinks. I tried the peanut butter shake and I loved it. I think I was spot on with my choice from their list of shakes. Also their featured flavour of the day which was a Peach lemonade was a wonderful one. They had a Fifty/Fifty drink which was half lemonade and half iced tea, well this drink could only win 50% of my attention.

The desserts are called concretes which are actually frozen custard ice cream blended at a high speed with mix-ins. Please do try the Strawberry banana trifle(vanilla custard, strawberry puree, fresh banana and shortbread cookie). It reminded me of the banana pudding. Surprisingly the shack attack concrete which boasted itself using Valrhona chocolate didn’t reach my expectation. By the way, you could also customize your concrete by picking your kind of mix-ins. You can choose from around 13 different mix-ins like chocolate truffle cookie dough, peanut butter sauce, banana, Valrhona chocolate pearls etc.
