City Walk continues to expand in Dubai introducing some of the well known brands to Dubai diners. La Pâtisserie des Rêves is a boutique pastry shop which has originated from France and tries to entice you with their French classics. They are well known for their pastries and cakes. Pastries such as Paris-Brest, the Saint Honoré, the Vanilla Mille-feuille, Tarts are some of their signatures and you will truly appreciate their quality once you try any of them. They call it the “patisserie of dreams”.
The colorful Patisserie shop located in City Walk Dubai is actually hidden on Level 2 KIDS floor which is an area dedicated to luxury kids wear. La Pâtisserie des Rêves strongly relates their gourmet experience to childhood memories. They have also have a dedicated kids seating area as well as a giant drawing board to keep them busy.
At the entrance they have their pastries displayed in their iconic temperature controlled glass display. The display counter alone makes these French pastries very attractive and intriguing.
Blackberry Latte is one of their signature drinks. An elegant looking latte with a touch of Blackberry. The coffee tasted ordinary but the hint of blackberry makes it different. The hot chocolate was on the lighter side. The Mocha peanut butter was thick and wonderful. The strawberry fizzle was a fantastic mocktail.
After eating their Saint-Honore I am convinced they can make you the best Mille-feuille. The quality of the cream used is commendable. I am sure you’ll appreciate the same when you try it. After Saint-Honore, the most famous pastry would be their Paris-Brest. This time it would be the praline cream. The pastry is extremely soft and light in texture and they just melt in your mouth. It’s that only cream which you don’t mind eating without any guilt. You will love every inch of these French pastries.
The lemon tart comes with a nice zesty touch where sourness and sweetness is well balanced. The strawberry fraiser cake reminded me of the cheese cake but it was actually a rich filling of cream and strawberries. You are going to love these I tell you.
The Eclair cafe was the only one dessert that I wasn’t really impressed here. It’s surely was the best looking Eclair which comes in a nice thick chocolate wrap. They have two flavours chocolate and coffee. I picked up the coffee, maybe their chocolate could have been a better choice for me.
The Grand Cru was one of a kind. Its a soft and mellow cake covered in smooth vanilla or chocolate. In the case of vanilla you could see the inner stuffing of vanilla, caramel, vanilla beans. You appreciate the true quality of ingredients they use.
It’s lots of cream and choux pastry at La Pâtisserie des Rêves, made from finest ingredients where quality is not compromised. The challenge for them would be the higher priced pastries and the location which is actually hidden on level 2 of City Walk and will not be found by visitors who just intend to stroll around City Walk. This Patisserie is nice looking and has a very good high style French Passisteries.
However, we you taste them, you just notice that it is not fresh and they do not have at all the service level you are expecting from this Chef Pâtissier Conticini !
We ordered for fresh 10 pieces to pick-up on the morning of Christmas: 1st, our order was not noted and not even served. 2nd, we took what was available and it was not fresh even not from the day before …
Don’t go unless they recover.
