As soon as we entered Benjarong we were greeted with traditional Thai welcome. Once seated we were then given hot towels and complimentary lemon grass drinks. There was LIVE Thai music being played in the background using a thai xylophone(wooden bars suspended by cords played with two mallets), calm and soothing. The complimentary prawn crackers were delicious and light. Kids just loved them.

We could not stop admiring our drinks. It was perfect with colors and gave you a burst of freshness in every sip. Ginger twist was my favourite here. The spicy clear soup was dangerously spicy. We asked them to make the spicy soup spicy(assuming it wouldn’t be as spicy) and that literally put our tongue on fire! But we really enjoyed the flavorful soup at the same time. It was a brilliant soup and never felt better having it. Specially in this cold weather, we were loving it even more.

The mixed platter was an over load of scrumptious Thai appetizers. Each of them being very different and unique in taste. I specifically enjoyed the spring rolls and rice paper veggie rolls. The sweet, sour, spicy dippers is as important as the appetizers and they really uplift the experience for this platter. The Green papaya salad was tangy and so good that I felt this was one of the best Thai salads we’ve had.

WOK FRIED – Phad Med Ma Mueng(AED 120) – with capsicum, dried chilli and cashew nuts

Phad Med Ma Mueng was an order by chance and we loved every bit of this one. The jumbo prawns were massive in size. This wok fried actually didn’t had any gravy in it. The prawns were juicy and irresistible.  It came with rice as you see below.

The red curry was nice and thick. I kind of was enjoying it more like a thick soup. Frankly more than the chicken it was the curry itself that I really enjoyed inside the red curry. The beef inside the Phad Kraprow tasted fresh and we couldn’t be happier.

The fried banana with honey and ice cream was light, fluffy and banana lovers would just want it more. It’s interesting even after a heavy dinner we could still eat them comfortably. The home made coconut milk ice cream definitely tasted home made and was naturally fresh.
