Walnut Grove has come all the way from South Africa to impress us with their high end decor and unique menu that customizes traditional food with their own recipe of innovative cooking by combining new ingredients, introducing new flavors, taste and style. It’s not simple cooking but ‘ART’ plays a big role at Walnut Grove. If you have ever visited CityWalk in Dubai, then there is no way you can ignore Walnut Grove who will easily entice you with their eye popping king sized cakes and bakes.
The interior decor is a charm at Walnut Grove, Dubai Mall. At the Entrance you are enchanted with their selection of cakes. They have a balcony with a wonderful view of the dancing fountain and Burj Khalifa. Sitting inside Walnut Grove Dubai Mall makes you feel in a luxurious restaurant with rose gold chairs, marble top, wooden flooring, iconic chandeliers and giant mirrors spread across the walls.
Drinks are definitely not be missed here. It was wonderful sipping each one of them. I must admit the smoothie we had here was one of the best we’ve ever tried. The berry slim smoothie made from yoghurt is highly recommended to try.
The shakes can get you crazy at Walnut Grove. They come rich, thick and cold. Every sip we were like ‘wow’. I love the intensity of these shakes. You can’t go wrong with any of them. The Caramel brownie shakes comes with added bonus of brownie pieces inside the shake, so there is a whole lot more thrill in a brownie shake at Walnut Grove.
The iced tea was one of the best Iced tea you can expect. Fresh and rejuvenating. There is plenty, so you can for sure share their signature Iced Tea.
Salads are uniquely presented and is one of their signatures. The Casablanca salad consist of Grilled Halloumi cheese, avocado, roasted butter nut, couscous, roasted beetroot served on a bed mixed greens, carrots, tomatoes, red onions sprinkled with toasted nut and seed mix. It was just a delight having this salad.
The Pistachio falafel Burger was very different. The falafel was soft and luscious. The kind of content found inside this burger such as the Tahini, hummus, pistachio dukkah, aioli makes it an interesting proposition. The potato fries which came with skin was also commendable. With the size of these falafels, the only challenge would be how you fit this burger in your mouth. The Beef Mousaka was a lot and worth sharing. Lots of cheese and minced beef layered with custom ingredients that you will enjoy. The Walnut Truffle Pasta was even better but to be honest the only turn off or the least interesting item for me was the Cheese Manakish Focaccia. Somehow it couldn’t shine as the burger, pasta, moussaka or maybe after having them the Manakish Focaccia felt ordinary.
We were then mesmerized by their cake tasting board. You get to pick any three slices of cake from their collection and along with it comes muffins, chocolates, brownie, cut fruits, bowl of ice cream and marshmallows. From what we tried you should definitely go for the pecan cashew tart which was a sheer nutty treat and it was so good that it vanished quickly from the plate. They have several types of cheese cakes including a baked cheese cake. We went for the Blueberry cheese cake which I thought was a good choice. We weren’t really impressed with the Dubai 4ever cake, I’d say pick something else instead. The brownie was more fun in the smoothie than by having it by itself.
Kids get FREE babyccino which is basically steamed milk topped with cocoa powder. The Sinful Cappuccino had condensed milk in the mix which makes it thicker, but they seem to make good coffee. Click here to visit their official website. Click pictures below to see them in full screen view:
