If you are at Ajman you don’t want to miss this new restaurant that has come up at this beautiful spot in Ajman, facing the Golf Course. The design of the building itself is iconic and a wonder design. The Grove restaurant serves Middle Eastern specialties and they make some really good Arabic food that you are going to appreciate. Their food is instagram worthy, with a healthy portion size which makes sure the diners leave the restaurant satisfied and tummy full.

Fresh Juices (From left): Cocktail(AED 35) and Avocado Honey(AED 33)

For cold drinks, fresh juices are their specialty. We didn’t find any mocktails in their menu but a variety of fresh fruit juices. We picked two of them and I can tell you their Avocado and honey was brilliant. Thick, sweet and rich in taste. The mixed fruit cocktail was less exciting, considering the Avocado honey juice..

Spinach Dates Salad – AED 33 – Spinach, Dates, Avocado, Apples, Walnuts served Balsamic Vinaigrette
Trio Dips – AED 40 – Muhammara, Mutabbal and Hummus
Cheese Borek – AED 21 – fried pastry stuffed with cheese

We were quite impressed with the colorful Spinach Dates salad. The ingredients were premium, the portion size was good and it tasted wonderful.

The cold Arabic dippers was one of the best we’ve had. You might find these dippers in every restaurant but these were one level UP. You should specially try the Muhammara which I thought was one of the best we’ve experienced. Highly recommend you to try it. The trio dippers along with freshly baked hot breads was a thrilling start to our lunch at The Grove.

The cheese borek was crispy and the cheese inside was lovely. Kids loved every bit of this one.

Lamb Machboos – AED 59 – Marinated lamb cooked with Basmati Rice, Emarati Spices and Loumi

Mixed Grills Extra – AED 67 – Shish Taouk, Tikka Meat, Kabab orfali, Chicken wings and Lamb chops

For the mains we had Lamb Machboos which is an Emarati classic. The lamb was succulent and together with their specialty rice, it was just a lovely combo. A hearty meal with a well balance of spice and meat. It’s interesting to see how well the lamb was cooked and how that fleshy meat would easily cut and fall off your cutlery. The Mixed Grill here is a typical one. If you really want to try something different, you might want to try something from their PANS IN THE OVEN section. The food here has been brilliant, be it the starters, mains, salads. But one section they could improve would be the dessert section.

Valooda – AED 39
Pistachio Milk Cake
Arabic Ice cream with Pistachio – AED 37

Arabic Desserts have always been my favourite so I was a little bit disappointed when they didn’t have any of the classic ones and from what they could offer which was the valooda, we thought we got a persian ice cream but it turned out to be just noodles and rose syrup. They do have a selection of milk cakes but then again if you’ve been eating Milk cakes, you know this could be better. The Arabic icecream with pistachio was decent, I probably will settle with this one at The Grove.

Karak Tea – AED 27

We ended our meal with a fine Karak tea. Click pictures below to see them in full screen view:
