Mina Brasserie is a well known restaurant for bringing glamorous dishes to the table. Food never looked so elegant on a plate. Mina Brasserie has now introduced an exclusive menu which blends Emirati delicacies with international cuisine. This is an excellent way of putting fusion to good use by giving an opportunity to diners to experience local favours from their regular menu. We loved everything about the special menu at Mina Brasserie.

Complimentary Starters – Fresh Bread
Starter – Pastrami Cured Sea Bream – with salona spice, cripsy rice, pickled lime, Kachumbr Salad

They serve wonderful mocktails. You try any of them and its going to be unique with a burst of freshness in every sip. I ate lot of bread here. They were baked fresh and crispy. You have them along with special dippers that come along with the breads and nothing like it. The new menu starts with Pastrami Cured Sea Bream. Little in quantity but it’s definitely a special one. A new taste for your taste buds and that touch of saffron on it was pleasant and wonderful. The starter is made using spices and pepper sourced locally and fused along with American and French taste. What we are actually eating at stage one is fish and rice like the locals but in a different form, thanks to the innovation which made it a delight.

Main Course – Farmer’s Bone Marrow – Creme Brulee with Toasted Baguette
Wood Fire Grill Olive and Black Lime Marinated Lamb Chops with spiced Frekkeh stung with Raisins and Nuts

The Creme Brulee made from bone marrow was a surprise dish. Never would you expect to eat something like this for a main. The dish was rich and sweet, so rich that you might give up half way. Once again the dish was made using local sources such as egg, milk, dates etc. The Lamb chops was the star. The main ingredients being the black lime, yoghurt, saffron in it. Loved the spiced frekkeh that came along with it as well which is not to be confused with rice.

DESSERT – Gahwa(Arabic Coffee) Tiramisu, Hazelnut Meringue, coffee Emulsion

The dessert was unique as well. You might have had a Tiramisu but not with Arabic Coffee. Arabic Coffee is generally light in texture so that doesn’t spoil the dessert. The other content of the dessert would be custard, cardamom, tiramisu cream, exotic fruit jelly and hazelnut topping. But personally I felt the heavily loaded cream dessert was an over kill considering the sweet Farmer’s Bone Marrow Creme Brulee was a main. The dining experience has been a unique one and we loved every bit of the new Emarati touch to the food at Mina Brasserie.
