Get ready to get ugly at Ugly burger. An Asian inspired burger joint, expect no less than an overwhelming experience of flavorful burgers. A mouth watering experience where our table got really ugly at the end of our meal. It’s the special sauces, spice and juice that flows out of these burgers which makes it a wonderful messy experience. You definitely can’t expect your hands to stay dry while you eat their signature burgers. They are heavily loaded with meat, vegetables, oil and sauces. These burgers you cherish on every bite. It’s here also I see a chicken burger outshining a beef burger. On our visit, they also had a special KETO inspired burger which was was made using keto goodies that was sugar free, gluten free and low carb buns used.

It’s a small joint at Dar Wasl Mall. They are pretty busy on saturdays for lunch. They do have seatings outside, but during the lunch hour it’s quite hot to be sitting outside. Hence the limited indoor seats are in demand during lunch hour on a weekend. We started of with their milk shakes. The good news they have plenty of milk shakes to select from their menu. This actually makes up for their lack of dessert selection. We went for their signature milk shake called the HONEY YUZU. The HONEY YUZU milk shake was lovely, so pure in taste. It just got better with time as the ICE cooled off. The coffee mocha was good too but a standard shake which you can find else where. I know their Oreo milk shake is an eye teaser, so should try that next time. The two starters we had were just mind blowing, very different from each other. The crispy fries topped with dense thai pad krapow and basil was a very different experience but really nice and you are going to love them. It’s the one you need to try from their fries selection. Actually speaking it felt like a meal on its own. There is nothing burger looking with truffle burger rolls, the name is misleading I guess, it was a spring roll in reality and they taste wonderful with truffle aioli sauce. A thin crispy skin that has delicious stuffing in it.

The Nashville chicken burger just stole the show. I just loved this burger very much. The spice on the chicken was just right. Mind you they can spice it up really high that you could start throwing fire from your mouth, so you make sure you tell them your limit on spice, otherwise its going to be difficult to eat them. We went for the mild version and it was just perfect for us. Every time you bite on it, there is dripping of sauces from the other side of the burger. It’s a massive piece of fried chicken in it. The Bulgogi burger on the other hand sounded very quite and pleasant to eat. Plenty of marinated sliced beef in it which is the best part of the burger. The burger bun felt ordinary like the potota buns you get to buy from grocery stores, nothing extra ordinary about them like it’s filling. It’s all about the filling at Ugly Burger.

We were actually invited to try the STAN BURGER. Basically the STAN BURGER features sugar-free, gluten-free, low-carb bun. As per description they call it a secret blend of wagyu, topped with double cheddar cheese. Loaded with chopped beef bacon, fried egg and avocado slices, along with signature Japanese mayo. The pretty egg stands out in this burger and that’s because it sits on a giant size wagyu. The bun in unique and very different from what is other wise served with other burgers. The STAN BURGER is a limited edition and is completely different from what is usually expected from Ugly Burger menu. You might need an extra hand to finish this burger. I would still prefer to eat their signature burgers which felt more juicier and tastier, unless you are really concerned about carbs and is looking for KETO friendly ingredients.

Basque cheesecake – AED 35

Unfortunately they have only one dessert on their menu. It would be a good idea for them to add some more dessert in their menu, considering the amount of spice that you will be eating here, a cold or sweet dessert is always a welcome treat after such a meal. The Basque cheesecake was a little surprising when we saw it’s size to the price, otherwise it’s a descent cheese cake that won’t disappoint anyone.
