Treat yourself at the Yum restaurant to an appetizing fusion of Asian cuisine from Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malaysian, and Singaporean. Located in Radisson Blu, the restaurant has two sides, where one side is the window facing the Deira Dubai Creek and the other side is the open kitchen where you witness LIVE cooking. It is a quite, laid back restaurant where the only sound you would hear is the Chef at the fire with the WOK. Food here is authentic to its theme and if you generally enjoy cuisines such as Thai and Singaporean, then you must give this restaurant a try.

seafood Laksa Soup – AED 57 – southeast Asian spicy glass noodle soup with boiled egg, mixed seafood in rich curry coconut milk
Lemon grass chicken – AED 45 – crispy lemon grass chicken served with sweet chili sauce
Deep fried seafood dumplings – AED 46 – juicy minced seafood with vegetables wrapped in wonton dough

This would be the first restaurant where we didn’t get the Prawn crackers on their compliments. You will have to pay to enjoy those signature prawn crackers. We instead directly opted for the heavily loaded glass noodle seafood soup which was plenty and a delight for everyone at the table. Atleast 4 people can easily share this big bowl of soup which was rich in taste, thanks to the coconut milk which makes it very delicious. The crispy lemon grass chicken finished in no time, which should not be surprising and a must try starter. The deep fried seafood dumpling was very pretty on the plate but not as great as we expected, compared to the ones we’ve had in the past.

Wok-fried wheat noodle with beef – AED 53 – thick noodles tossed with beef and chefs special chilli sauce
Nasi Goreng – AED 55 – Indonesian wok-fried rice with eggs, bab corn, asparagus and carrots served with either chicken satay
Thai green curry beef – AED 65 – tender beef strips, green beans and egg plant stewed in a mix of green curry, coconut milk, lemon leaves and thai basil

The Wok fried wheat noodle with beef was amazing. Thick noodles which just went very well with entire mix of vegetable and beef and could easily fill you up too. Felt this noodle was different from the usual and loved it very much.  The Thai green curry is a must try, which came with a plain white sticky rice. This once again had coconut milk in it, making the curry luscious. The best part in the Nasi goreng were the eggs, chicken satay and the crackers which sat on a bed of rice, without them the overwhelming rice would get boring to some. The chicken satay on it were commendable and to be honest one of the best tasting satays in town.

Mango sticky rice – AED 35 – traditional thai dessert made with glutinous rice, fresh mango slices and coconut milk
Mango pudding – AED 28 – mango flavored chia seeds and mango mousse popsicle in dark chocolate

The mango sticky rice is a must try and so is the unique mango mousse pudding which comes along with dark chocolate. The combination of dark chocolate along with the sweet and pleasant mousse was a great contrast and loved everything about the pudding. The chocolate bar has soft mousse in it. For the sticky rice pudding, Most often the sticky rice is prepared well and you are on the mercy of the mango if it is ripe enough to give you that sweetness you expect. So this was our yum! experience.
