The restaurant is definitely spacious. Perfect for a family gathering. Comfortable seatings and feels fresh and new. You also get to hear the Azan clearly, the restaurant synchronizes the audio very well to the prayer hour. The entire buffet is hidden behind a giant door until 5 mins before the official Iftar start time. An Arabic host is busy serving Arabic coffee to all those around.

Hot starters

The ramadan drink was a little too sweet. For starters they had cheese and spinach fatayers, the skins on the fatayer were a little extra thick. The kibbeh was pretty good. There was also potato wedges as starters, which went well with the sauces. The salad bar was a good one, they had a good combination of arabic and English salad. The Lentil soup was the soup of the day.

Chicken
Indian curry
Biriyani(mutton/beef)and chicken

They had this amazing chicken roast in a corner which was simply irresistible. Everything about it was impressive including the way it looked, the size, the color of the marination and yes it tasted amazing. The chicken roast and the Lamb Ouzi would be the highlight for meat lovers. A big cooked lamb Ouzi was the center of attraction at the buffet counter. I went back for some more as the meat was cooked well and lovely tasting marination on it too. The biriyani and kabsa was also another good choice here and with all those condiments such as pickles, chutney, curd they just went very well all together to make a good impression. The butter chicken was my favorite from all the good curries they offered including the vegetable one which was pretty good and they also had roti if you preferred roti otherwise. You had jeera rice as a side with the curries.

They have a decent selection of desserts. Umm Ali, dry fruits, cakes, pudding does a good job in satisfying your sweet tooth cravings. Overall it’s been a pleasant experience breaking our fast at Oliva. Click pictures below to see them in full screen view:
