Intersect by Lexus at DIFC has a special Iftar menu for the month of Ramadan with a spread of Arabic and Modern Asian Cuisine. It’s been a pleasant experience eating at Intersect. The moment you get into the restaurant during the Iftar hour, you are mesmerized by the interior, also greeted by the background recitation which sets the right tone for the evening. Although there was a buffet counter, they decided to bring everything to our table instead, as there were limited diners. That was another good part were the ambience was quite and soothing. There is also a prayer hall close by the restaurant which makes it easier for muslims to quickly pray in between and come back. You are also taken good care by the staff at the restaurant. It was a premium service just like the LEXUS we know. From their cutlery, cuisine offering and hospitality, it’s been an impressive ride at Intersect by Lexus this evening. Also note they do have a buy one get one offer on the Dubai Entertainer App for their Iftar package.

Every table has dates ready. You then get your selection of Ramdan drinks. They mainly have Jallab and Tamarind. The ramadan drinks were good, especially Jallab which felt very authentic. You then have the hot soups, a choice between mushroom and lentil. The soup bowl alone was impressive and they were the prettiest looking soups. That’s one thing at Intersect where food comes well presented on a plate. The soup was thick and delicious. 2 kinds of salads and a plenty of cold dippers along with hot breads. Each bread was different and there were just amazing when you have them with their fine dippers. Dippers such as hummus felt so genuine and I thought to myself I finally got to try the real hummus. The vine leaves are also not be forgotten here. Then there was this exciting plate of hot starters which was addictive. A light pastry stuffed with cheese/spinach/meat mainly. Since the pastry skin was thin, it was crispier and nice to eat.

Pasta – Penne in Arrabiata sauce
Oriental Rice
Butter chicken and Iranian Chicken
Kung pao beef with peanuts and Kebab
Roasted Salmon with lemon butter sauce
Iftar at Intersect By Lexus

Mains from the Iftar menu was overwhelming. A little too much than what we expected and they were also mouthwatering. Each one of them had it’s unique taste. The meats were like the best from different worlds. Be it the butter chicken, the Iranian kebabs&chicken, the roasted salmon, or even the kung pao beef they were just mind blowing. Actually the kung pao beef with peanuts was my favourite here, something different about it. A different taste to the palate. I must also confess the salmon tasted fresh but with so much of meat around, it was difficult to focus on one alone. The sushi platter was a surprise. Don’t remember seeing it in the Iftar menu but I could literally just stare at it than eat it, even though each piece looked small, the rice in it would fill you up quickly. So you better plan how to enjoy them cause it’s impossible to have them all.

Desserts
Arabic sweet

I thought the dessert section needed an improvement. For the price, we expect much more. There was an Arabic dessert muhallabiah which was housemade and was the best from the lot. The chocolate cake and the baklavas felt ordinary and could have been better. Otherwise, they deliver for the price especially when you  can take advantage of the buy one get one offer for their Iftar buffet. Click here to visit their official website.
