It’s interesting how people associate a shop by it’s name. Just before I could visit Ping Pong some of them told me there would be a table tennis or a ping pong setup hence they call the restaurant Ping Pong. So the first thing I’d like to confirm to you is that there is no ping pong table in here. Ping Pong in chinese means perfect opposites. They serve fusion cuisine with a blend of chinese, japanese, vietnamese. Beautiful interiors captivate your eye as soon as you enter the restaurant and they also have seatings outside with a view of the dancing fountain and Burj Khalifa. You see big posters of steam on the walls of ping pong, it shows how important it plays a role in their kitchen

I love the round table we sat specially that light coming from the center. The food on that spot was as if it was on a fashion stage. For the drinks we tried the following:

Martini – Lychee and roses – Lychee juice shaken with rose petals syrup and fresh lemon juice.
Coolers – Ping Pong – raspberry puree shaken with guava juice and shiso leaves.

You know both had it’s own taste but the when I see the amount I think next time I’ll definitely settle with more coolers. Martini was a little to less to last till the end 🙁

The dippers

One thing I should highlight about Ping Pong is that they bring the food to your table really quick. It’s the fastest I’ve seen. It’s well cooked so don’t worry about it. I love the red spicy dipper. I was having that one with almost everything. I wish the chicken puff was little more crisp. I prefer to hear the puff crack when I bite them. The honey roasted chicken inside the puff gave it a happy ending.

The Mushroom vegetable bun was the pretty fat snowwhite. A white bun which i’ve never had before. One thing we had to be careful with it was the cover underneath would stick to the skin of the bun and you might not even realize it. I thought the filling inside the bun was stingy. The bun tasted very different though and it’s not the kind you come across often in Dubai. It’s worth a try if you’ve never tried this kind of a bun before. That said this is not the kind of bun that I’d enjoy. The spicy chicken dumpling looked very innocent but was spicy enough that my children couldn’t have it.

The white fish we got in the dumpling was tilapia fish. I very much enjoyed the honey chicken stew with coconut rice but a must try here is their beef stew which I tried the first time I came here and it’s one of their best.

This dessert was picked from their season special. It was fab. I really enjoyed it along with the vanilla ice cream. The cream cheese frosting between each layer of the carrot cake made it super tasty.
Overall I’ve had a great experience here. The service was quick and efficient, their food had it’s taste and ambience was great. Definitely worth a visit if you’ve never been here before.
