You’ve heard of a Friday brunch, a Saturday brunch but this one’s a MEATOPIA BRUNCH. It shouldn’t be very difficult to guess what it is 😉 This restaurant called THE HIDE is hiding at the luxurious Al Qasr Resort at Madinat Jumeirah. THE HIDE which is an American meatery specializes in serving you premium cuts of meat and steaks cooked in a way to tease your taste buds. Brunch was top class and a perfect match to the Palace(Al Qasr – Madinat Jumeirah).
The interior was classic with wooden flooring and genuine leather seats that I was most comfortable sitting throughout my brunch. You can also sit outside in their balcony feeling the great weather and lovely view of the Arabian architecture of Madinat Jumeirah.
Hot breads here were fantastic. Served warm and freshly baked right behind you. Some breads were crisp and some where soft and fluffy. The drinks looked very promising on menu but unfortunately all that ingredient mentioned on the menu was not coming out in taste 🙁 . Salad had a nice touch of sweet and sour and I loved it.
Our table was then flooded with Meatopia sharing platter. They were well prepared, little in portion size, each of them tasting very different from each other. The high points for me would be their grilled prawns, lamb meatballs and Beef Tartar. Oxtail was not something I usually prefer to eat but they’ve made it so well that it turned out to be one of my favourites from the sharing platter. The beef tartar came well presented and was fun mixing the tonic using the cute little wooden cutlery.
Then came the best part. You could opt for one main for yourself or opt for one sharing platter like the Slow Roast Prime Rib as you see above. 1855 sirloin steak was exquisite. It looked so good that I was already mouth watering before I could start. Their meat was flavourful and tasty. The Salmon steak tasted fresh and just felt healthy eating it. The slow roast prime rib would be the juicier one from the lot.
The Hide has done a wonderful job for a sweet ending. Their desserts have been luscious and delightful. The good part is you get all the desserts mentioned in the Meatopia brunch menu. The Apple pie was quite huge and came out exactly as it should be. I haven’t come across pumpkin desserts very often. This is a must have if you generally love pumpkins. I am not a big fan of condensed milk so that was the only turn off for me. The Campfire S’more Sundae was heavenly. This was my favourite. I just couldn’t stop digging in for more of its peanut butter cookies & dulce de leche. Interestingly, the major attraction to the sundae which was the burned marshmallow was the least attractive content to me in this sundae but rest of the content in this sundae was addictive.
